The Wellington Senior Living Looks Forward to This Year’s Spring-Cleaning

Category: Senior Living

Author: Robert Borushko Jr., Plant Operations Director

Spring-cleaning is celebrated in cultures across the world. Due to the tilt of the Earth on its axis, the northern hemisphere begins to see the winter-scape come to life with daffodils blooming, grass greening, and temperatures warming during late March, into early April.

Spring-cleaning has grown into National Spring-Cleaning Week. This annual effort has expanded beyond house and business cleaning into peoples’ finances, technology, and other areas of a person’s life. With that in mind, The Wellington Senior Living is looking forward to completing this year’s community-wide spring-cleaning effort!

We wash and treat the windows, because winter is harsh on all of us, including our windows and doors. We always check the caulking for damage and repair any issues. You don’t want to find problems come summer after your air conditioner has been running on high for days, but your home still feels like a sauna.

One of the best parts about spring-cleaning, is the decluttering! Go through closets, drawers, and all storage areas to separate your items into keep, toss, or donate.

Now is also a good time to replace old batteries in your home. These are things you wouldn’t normally pay attention to unless there was a problem. Stay ahead of that annoying beep that comes with low batteries and put in fresh ones during your spring-cleaning. This is also a great opportunity for you to give back to your community.

Take some time to clear out your downloads folder, old screenshots, and other files you no longer need on your computer. Most have a built-in application to help you see what’s taking up storage and show you what you can clear away. Also, clear your mobile device by uninstalling unused apps and deleting unwanted photos, files, and messages.

This will be the third year of our tradition of spring-cleaning within the community and each year is better than the last! Come see for yourself how a clean, well-kept community brings smiles to its residents and staff.
